ATSSA accelerates release of online course for pandemic response and prevention

Course released early is part of expanded online offerings scheduled for mid spring

In response to the global pandemic, ATSSA’s Training Department is accelerating release of one of its new online courses.

The Training Department had been slated to launch a new segment of online training addressing human resources and workplace safety issues later this spring but out of heightened concerns for the health and safety of members amid COVID-19, Vice President of Member Services Donna Clark authorized early release of one course.

Acute Respiratory Illness Pandemics: Prevention and Response” is now available for members and non-members. This course is being offered for free to members through April 30.

Future training will include Human Resources Department topics such as sexual harassment prevention and response, how to hire legally, hours-of-service rules, workers’ compensation, and workplace privacy.

Future training on workplace safety topics will comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and include tips for avoiding injuries, identifying hazardous materials, working outdoors, and working around heavy equipment.

Some courses will be offered in Spanish as well as English.
